Artist Call: Holiday Under $99 Show | Dates, Details & How to Participate

Hello Artists,

We’re trying something new at ALTR Gallery for the holiday season! Our holiday Under $99 Show is an open, non-juried group show designed to make art more accessible to holiday shoppers while helping artists sell work they already have in their inventory or storage.

We know how challenging the current economy can be, and we want to create another opportunity for artists to make sales and for buyers to afford artwork over big box stores for gifts this year. We’ve watched so many of you grow as artists, and we recognize that $99 is a low price point for work and that deserves so much more. But if you have artwork you can sell for under $99 this is the show for you. This show is simply an opportunity to reach buyers who may be looking for more affordable art and a hope that this might help artists clear out some artwork they could see going to a new home.

Please read through the details below, as this show will work differently from our usual group exhibitions.

SIGN UP BEFORE NOVEMBER 1, 2026 BY MIDNIGHT.

SHOW GUIDELINES

Open call: No jury or selection process. Registration is first come, first served.
Artwork: Any subject or medium is welcome. Previously exhibited work and reproductions are allowed.
We are not doing mail in artwork for this show. Email in with any questions.
Price: Every piece must be priced under $99. No “Not for sale” pieces for this show.
Commission: 75% to the artist/ 25% to OAC
Quantity: Up to 5 pieces per artist.
Size: Artwork must be under 50 inches. Please email us if you have a larger piece you'd like to include.
Sculpture: We have limited pedestals, so sculptures may be displayed on tables with tablecloths.
Sales: Sold artwork goes directly home with the buyer at sale.
Artist will be installing their own work
The artwork still needs to follow our art guidelines meaning the artwork should be properly hung with appropriate hardware. No free floating pieces of paper without some type of frame.

HOW TO SIGN UP

Complete the Google Artist registration form: https://forms.gle/UHAyS4r485q2HChX8
We’ll email you a contract and confirm we have you signed up. We will send out emails every few days. Please be patient with our analog system. I will turn the form off if we hit capacity.
After submitting your signed contract, please send a sliding-scale artist fee $5-20 via Venmo or PayPal. These fees only go to advertising costs and printer ink for tags.
Complete the inventory form for every piece you plan to bring so we can enter your work into Square.

All artist fees will go directly toward advertising the show through MPLSART.com holiday guide and other ads and/or boosted Instagram and Facebook posts through Meta depending on total collection of artist fees.

IMPORTANT: HOW THIS SHOW IS DIFFERENT

To keep costs down for everyone, we’re changing how we handle installation and promotion. This show relies on collaboration between the gallery and participating artists.

Artists will hang their own work during one of the scheduled installation times.
Artwork tags will be made at installation. OAC members will assist if needed.
We ask everyone to help promote the show by sharing posts and inviting their communities.
There will be no sales table for artists these are gallery items only. Instead we will be offering a market the following Saturday December 12 that is being curated by Lofty Dog designs.

If you’d like to sell at a table in person or have a table of your own, we encourage you to sign up for our holiday art market, curated by Lofty Dog Designs. Splitting tables is okay!

IMPORTANT DATES & TIMES

Installation Day 1: Sunday, November 29, 11 AM–7 PM
Installation Day 2: Monday, November 30, 6–8:30 PM
Opening Weekend: Friday, December 4, and Saturday, December 5, 6–10 PM
Additional Shopping Hours: December 9, 10, and 11 6:30-9pm
Under 99 show Art Market: Saturday, December 12, noon–6 PM, featuring a special holiday guest, Santa or Krampus and possible live music- Performers are still TBD.
Artwork Pickup / Show Takedown: Sunday, December 13, noon–5 PM
Next Exhibition Installation for Night of the living wage: December 14 so we really need you to remember the pick up date.

Our hope is that this show brings new shoppers through our doors, makes art more accessible during the holidays while being thoughtful to shoppers' budgets and encouraging local art for your holiday gifts, and gives artists an additional opportunity to sell work before the year ends.
